The Kitchen Unit offers opportunities for members who have specific passions for or interests in gaining culinary skills such as food preparation, menu planning, serving, waiting tables, and janitorial work.

The Kitchen Unit emphasizes health and wellness such as nutritional awareness and exercise. Members sit side by side with staff to design weekly menus and have the opportunity to co-lead cooking and baking classes. The Kitchen Unit also provides a daily breakfast bar. Lunch is served daily for a nominal fee.
